Wife of the late Governor Patrick Yakowa of Kaduna State, Amina Yakowa, on Sunday shared her last moment with her husband.
Yakowa, former National Security Adviser, Andrew Azazi, and four
others died, when a chopper they were travelling in crashed in Bayelsa.
Speaking at the Eucharistic Mass at St. Patrick’s Chaplaincy,
Government House, Amina said as a couple, they usually hold a private
prayer every morning, before joining the daily mass at 6am.
She explained that in the morning of the incident, she could not join
her husband to pray as she was down with catarrh. She said the deceased
urged her to get well soon so she can join him in the thanksgiving
service of First Lady, Patience Jonathan.
The service scheduled to hold Sunday, December 16, (today), was however postponed indefinitely due to the crash.
The Archbishop of Kaduna, Matthew Ndagoso, described Yakowa as a man
who promoted peace and development in the state. He urged the new
Governor to carry on with his predecessor’s efforts at ensuring quality
governance
The Bishop also advised the family and people of the state to take heart and remain united.
On his part, Joseph Hayab, Yakowa’s Special Adviser on Christian
Affairs, said his boss was “an incorruptible, hardworking and dedicated
person.”
