The ceremony was presided over by Governor Aliyu Wamakko and the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, who was represented by
Alhaji Rilwanu Bello, the Magajin Rafin Sokoto.
Wamakko said that the gesture was aimed at further reducing the problems associated with the high number of unmarried youth in the state.
The governor urged the new couples to uphold the trust reposed in themby the state government, and appealed to wealthy individuals tocomplement the efforts of the state government in this direction.
