Police arrest prime suspect for the RITUAL killing of 2 Kids

One of the prime suspects in the celebrated ritual murder of two school kids of same parents in Abayioma Village near Aba, the commercial capital of Abia State. One of the two earlier arrested suspects has been charged to court. The suspect whose name was simply given as Chinedu was said to be the mastermind of the ritual murder of Prince Nwoha (6) and Kenneth Nwoha (4) who were killed inside a palm plantation on June 11, on their way to school.

Following the kids’ murder, two persons, Chibuike (who gave himself up after the incident) and Chimezie who the former implicated, were arrested.  In the cause of investigation, however, the duo pointed the finger  at Chinedu who was then at large as being in the know of what happened to the boys.

It was gathered that one of the arrested men was charged to court for abduction and murder while the second person was kept in prison custody to assist the police in tracking down the prime suspect. Chinedu, who according to Daily Sun findings had been involved in high profile criminal activities in the area since the kidnap era, was said to be living in Abayioma Village before he went to live in a nearby village called Umuafor.

From his new abode, he was reported to always make forays into his former place of residence to carry out his nefarious activities after which he would return to base.

As police spread their tentacles to apprehend the suspect who was also believed to be behind the theft in the house of the father of the slain kids when the man and his household went home to bury the boys, he walked into a well laid trap over the weekend at Abayioma and was subsequently arrested.

Chinedu was first taken to Umuobiakwa (Eastern Ngwa) Police Station before being transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Umuahia.

When contacted, the Abia State PPRO, Ezekiel Onyeike, confirmed the arrest and promised that all those arrested in connection with the incident would soon be charged to court.
