A suspected cultist was apprehended and set ablaze Monday by members
of a local vigilance group in Ovwian, Udu Local Government Area of Delta
State.
He was allegedly caught, snatching a mobile phone from unsuspecting members of the public, with his friend at Emedjor Street.
However, one of the cultists was unlucky, as the local vigilance
group chased them, catching him in the process while his partner
escaped.
Leaders of Ovwian community, had, about two months ago, summoned all
security agencies and members of the public parents to the community
town hall and warned that anyone caught indulging in cult activities
would be burnt to death.
The charred remains of the late suspected cultist were left
unattended at the NBTC Junction, Ovwian till the next day before they
were removed to unknown destination.
